Deadline Approaching for Laura Bush Foundation Library Grants

Supporting School Libraries

Grant applications open for the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries – Deadline to apply is Dec. 6

The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries is accepting applications now through December 6 for grants to update and diversify school library collections. Grant applications are open to public, private, parochial, magnet, and charter schools that have a school library. Public schools must have a Title 1 designation and private schools must have at least 50% of the student population qualify for financial aid to be eligible.

Since its inception, the Laura Bush Foundation has awarded $22 million to over 3,800 schools nationally. Many librarians use the funds to update their library collections by adding more in-demand books, including e-books and Spanish titles. We ask that you consider sharing this opportunity with a librarian or teacher in your life.

The George W. Bush Institute’s Education and Opportunity work is anchored in the belief that all children can learn and succeed – and that young people deserve agency in their futures. We use data and research to showcase the need for accountability, the importance of research-based reading instruction, and ways to increase quality pathways from education into the workforce.
