Christopher Paul Curtis has won the 2024 Coretta Scott King / Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement

Christopher Paul Curtis was burn in Flint, Michigan in 1953 and now lives in Canada. Prior to becoming an author, Curtis worked a variety of manual labor jobs including thirteen years in an automotive factory.

In 2024, Christopher Paul Curtis won the Coretta Scott King / Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement.

In addition to the Hamilton Award, he won the Newbery Medal in 2000 and the Coretta Scott King Award in 2000 and again in 2008. Curtis is the author of eight books and the receiver of many awards for his writing.
