Anna Dewdney Read-Together Award Accepting Nominations
Penguin Young Readers, the Children’s Book Council, and Every Child a Reader continue their partnership for the 8th Annual Anna Dewdney Read-Together Award in honor of the late Anna Dewdney (1965 – 2016), author and illustrator of the beloved Llama Llama series.
All librarians, teachers, booksellers, parents/caregivers, and children’s book bloggers are encouraged to nominate up to five beloved read-together picture book favorites, published in the last five years (2019 – 2023) in the United States. Nominators must be 18 years of age or older.
The deadline to submit a title for consideration is February 14, 2024.

“The Kaiju Preservation Society” wins Japan’s Seiun Award
Award-winning science fiction author, John Scalzi, has captured one more. It was announced today that his recent book, “The Kaiju Preservation Society” has won Japan’s prestigious Seiun Award.
On his website, Scalzi gives special thanks to the book’s translator, Masayuki Uchida. He said, “This must be considered as much Masayuki Uchida’s award as mine.”
This is the third time that Scalzi has won the Seiun Award. He also won for The Android’s Dream and Redshirts.
Scalzi, who now lives in Ohio, grew up in Southern California.

The Pulitzer Prizes for 2024 were announced today. Of particular note to Golden Libraries were those prizes related to books including those listed below. In addition, the awards ceremony is shown at the bottom of this post.
