Job Announcement: California School Library Association
Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Job Type: Part Time – $25 per hour
Location: Work from home
Hours: Flexible to meet the needs of the organization. Hours are greater during the fall months until the conference, and less during the spring and summer. Approximate hours are 600 per year. Attend the state conference, which will include the weekend.
REPORTS TO: CSLA Board of Directors, specifically to State Presidents.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Our ideal candidate will be creative and will have a positive attitude and impeccable time-management skills. They will feel comfortable using and learning various computer programs/applications and social media platforms.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage clerical duties in connection with the operations of the association, including communicating with the members of the association and the external community, responding to requests for information, responding to membership questions, creating and processing purchase orders and invoices, and coordinating registrations for events.

Requirements / Qualifications
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, direct the activities of library media services and the Educational Resources & Services (ERS) in providing services to local districts; provide consultation, staff development, and coordination services to school districts, Madera County Superintendent of Schools (MCSOS) offices, agencies and others in areas related to assigned instructional programs such as library and media education in Madera County, the region and state.
A minimum of four years of increasingly responsible library/media and teaching experience. Both elementary and high school experience preferred. Master’s Degree in Library Media Services or related field preferred. Valid Teacher Librarian Services Credential Valid Administrative Services Credential preferred. Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license. Incumbents must be insurable by the liability carrier for the Madera County Superintendent of Schools.
